iPod Bluetooth Pre-Order – FAQ

This page provides additional details regarding the recent update email sent to customers who pre-ordered our iPod Bluetooth board.

Why was the PCB redesigned after pre-orders were placed?

After pre-orders were placed, we began work on a revised PCB. While the original design works as intended, we felt it was worth investing additional time to deliver a meaningful upgrade rather than shipping something we knew could be improved.

Is there something wrong with the original design?

No. The original design is not broken and functions as expected. The new board will no longer require hand soldering on our end.

What is the current estimated shipping timeline?

Our current conservative estimate for shipping production units of the redesigned board is late April to May 2026. This timeline is intentionally padded to avoid over-promising.

 

Why not simply ship the original design now?

The original design requires significantly more manual soldering and hands-on assembly. This makes production slower and more difficult to scale consistently. The redesigned board is intended to improve Bluetooth performance, production consistency, and long-term supportability. There is also a delay on some components, so these parts would be pushed back regardless.

Can I choose between the original and redesigned board?

At this time, we are focused on completing and validating the redesigned board. If we decide to move forward with the original design instead, we will notify customers before doing so. You will always have the option to cancel if the timeline or direction does not work for you.

Can I cancel my pre-order?

Yes. You may cancel your pre-order at any time before shipment for a full refund. Simply reply to our email and we will take care of it promptly.
