Overview

The iPod 5–7th Gen Metal MKII Front Housing Shell is the foundation of any Boxy Pixel MKII build.

This precision-machined metal front shell is designed to pair with either the MKII MIN or MKII MAX rear housings. It serves as the starting point for your MKII iPod project. It is engineered to integrate with our MKII electronics, button systems, and rear housing options.

This housing is designed exclusively for MKII builds.

• iPod Classic 7th Generation

Designed to pair with Boxy Pixel:

• Boxy Pixel MKII MIN Rear Housing 
• Boxy Pixel MKII MAX Rear Housing

Not compatible with:

• Apple OEM housings
• Previous-generation Boxy Pixel housings

Features

MKII System Foundation

This front shell acts as the structural base of your MKII build. All other MKII components align to this housing.

Compatible with MIN and MAX Builds

Whether you are building a compact MKII MIN configuration or a larger-capacity MKII MAX setup, this front housing works with both rear shell options.

Intermediate Retainer Plate Included

An intermediate retainer plate is included to securely hold the iPod PCB in place. This plate ensures proper positioning and internal stability.

Installation Notes

Difficulty Level: Intermediate

Installation requires full disassembly of the iPod and integration with compatible MKII components.

Ensure cables are routed properly before attaching the rear housing.
